Four Killed in Crash with Dallas Cowboys Bus

Tragically, a van collided in Arizona with a bus carrying staff members of the Dallas Cowboys, killing four people in the van. No players were inside the van at the time of the accident. No one on the bus was seriously injured in the accident. The accident occurred when the van failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign as it turned left to cross traffic lanes. All of the van’s occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Footage taken after the crash shows the two vehicles in a field. The bus was intact and upright, while the van was demolished. The crash shut down at least one lane of the highway, which is the main route between Phoenix and Las Vegas.

At the time of the accident, the bus was on the way to a fan event in Las Vegas. The event was later cancelled. The deceased accident victims were identified as Chinese citizens.

Bus accidents such as this one can often lead to serious injuries and fatalities because of the size and weight of buses. According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, there are at least 11,000 bus accidents with injuries every year, with typically between 20,000 and 40,000 injuries. The majority of fatal accidents involving buses happen with school children. About 40 percent of all fatal bus crashes involve school buses.

When a person is injured in a bus accident, the case can be much more complex than a standard automobile accident case. There can be several different defendants, depending on who owns the bus, who maintains the bus, who the insurance companies involved are, and who the bus driver works for.
