Two Children Hospitalized After Major Accident in Dallas

Two children who were crossing the road this week were involved in an accident and were rushed to the hospital. The accident occurred on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. Five children between the ages of 10 and 12 ran into the road in front of a vehicle on Kelly Boulevard in Dallas, near Frankford Road.
The driver of the vehicle was able to stop in time to avoid hitting the children. However, a vehicle behind that vehicle struck the first vehicle from behind, causing that vehicle to hit all five children. One of the children was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A second child was also taken to the hospital in an unknown condition. The accident occurred near Dan F. Long middle school.
These children are very lucky they weren’t more seriously injured or killed. In the U.S., a pedestrian is fatally killed in an accident on average once every two hours. Besides those fatalities, many more pedestrians are seriously injured in accidents with automobiles.
Those pedestrians who are injured in accidents with automobiles in the Dallas-Fort Worth area have legal rights. If the accident was the fault of the automobile driver, the driver can be held legally liable for damages. That can include medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
