One person was killed and 20 were hurt after a Greyhound bus crash in Arlington. The crash happened in the early morning hours on December 20.
The accident was originally reported around 5:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-30 near Center Street. According to emergency officials, at least 20 people were hurt and one was killed. Fortunately, most of the injuries to the bus passengers were minor. The freeway was closed for hours. Greyhound later sent a second bus to the crash site to take the remaining passengers to their destination.
The accident allegedly occurred when a driver of an SUV began driving erratically before crashing into the carpool lane divider. The SUV was then hit by the Greyhound bus. There were 40 passengers and a driver on the bus, and two people in the SUV at the time of the accident. A woman in the SUV was killed and a man in the SUV was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Although this accident does not appear to be the fault of Greyhound, the investigation is still underway.
